Take note of these four tips.
In winter, hair is exposed to external factors such as cold, wind, humidity or the more frequent use of hair dryers or hot hair curlers, making it more fragile and brittle. As such, hair breakage becomes a common drama for many women.
To prevent and promote healthy hair, it is necessary to adopt daily habits internally and externally. With that in mind, L’Oréal Professionnel shares, in a press release, some care that you should have. Here they are:
1- Bet on a diet rich in vitamins
“A diet rich in vegetables, fruit and greens brings benefits to the body, since the vitamins and minerals found in these foods are necessary to nourish the hair strands. For example, vitamin B3 acts to strengthen hair and vitamin E helps nutrients reach the hair strands.”
2- Reduce the use of heat
“Especially in the colder months, blow dryer use is quite frequent, which can cause the hair shaft to weaken and therefore break. Choose to use a heat protectant whenever possible to help protect your hair.”
3- Don’t rub the towel on the hair shafts
“Rubbing wet hair hard or wrapping the towel around the top of the head causes friction with the fabric, making the hair fragile. This harmful tension and, in the long run, ends up breaking the hair shaft. The advised is to only press gently to remove excess moisture from the hair.”
4- Avoid keeping your hair pinned up
“Using pinned hair can sometimes become more practical for everyday life, but it quickly brings disadvantages, as hair will tend to break over time.”
